‘I Don’t Think About It (Too Much)’ - Euan Blackman’s newest single speaks to the key struggles of accessing emotions
Euan Blackman has just released his second single “I Don't Think About It (Too Much)”, further teasing his upcoming EP which is expected to be released this summer. The song is filled with soft harmonies that complement Euan’s voice perfectly, pretty melodies and instrumentals that hark back to the early days of The 1975, but with more of an acoustic touch.
“I Don't Think About It (Too Much)” is the type of song that at first listen, can easily draw you in with its wistful sound and production. However, the song explores more serious themes of repression and foregoing emotions as a way to cope with the hardships of life. Whether it’s about adapting to changing times, being away from loved ones, or adjusting to the challenges of living on your own, there is a relatable aspect that we as individuals can identify with when it comes to putting on a brave face and continuing to move forward with our true emotions padlocked and hidden away.
In his own words, Euan explains that the song “is all about avoidance. It’s probably the closest I’ve got to writing something that kind of represents my generation. There’s so much to worry and stress about nowadays - this song is an anthem for pushing it away sometimes.”
We’re excited to see the full story come together on Euan Blackman’s upcoming EP, which will include both his first single “Butterfly” as well as “I Don’t Think About It (Too Much)”.
